Maker Spotlight, WAAM Industries

If you’ve recieved your own Minny & Paul box, you’ve probably noticed a small product card tucked beneath the box top. It details what each item is, where it came from and who made it.

We love sharing these small snippets of our featured makers but we want to do more. To recognize these talented makers, we’re starting a spotlight series to share their stories. Check back every month to read about someone new and get to know the people behind the products.

Our first installment highlights a company we’ve been with since the start of M&P, WAAM Industries. WAAM is a local design and fabrication maker. The company was founded in 2012 by Andrew and Hanna Vomhof. They started small, working out of their basement and a few spare rooms. Fast forward to present day, and they’ve added a large industrial workspace to their business.

The idea for WAAM Industries started in a sketchbook. Their idea was simple - take everyday functional objects and elevate them to be long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing. Both MCAD graduates, Hanna and Andrew combined their unique skillset and minimalist perspective to take their vision from paper to real life.

If you didn’t already know, all of our hand selected products are nestled into these beautifully crafted boxes. What makes WAAM so great is the versatility of their product - after unboxing the goodies, use it as a trendy decor piece or storage box. Check out the things we store in our WAAM boxes:

  • Yummy tea
  • Cards from special friends (have you seen these beautiful letterpress cards by Maddko Illustration in our latest “Fuel” box?)

  • Sweet treats for that midnight sugar craving - have you checked out our Treat box?

  • Nightstand storage for your lip balms, essential oil (I love CALM by Miss Violet Lace from our Girlfriend Box), lotions and more
